We are following the public health guidelines put forth by the CDC and are committed to providing the safe and traceable food to our community.
Reunity Farm emphasizes access to local foods by donating produce to community hunger efforts annually and operating a neighborhood farm stand ten hours a week. We also host field trips, volunteer groups, and workshops (presently paused during the covid-19 outbreak).
In response to the covid-19 crisis, we are furthering our collaborations to fill in gaps in hunger support systems available in Santa Fe. Partner organization Communities in Schools has identified over 150 families in need of food resources and unable to access what is currently available due to the challenges of working an essential job and having children at home full-time. Communities in Schools is concerned that these already vulnerable children and families will suffer more duress and anguish if we cannot support their basic essential needs.
The highest need is for nutrient-dense ready-to-eat meals, and Reunity Resources is pivoting a higher percentage of farm fresh food towards donations to serve these families. We has organized a coalition with restaurant partner Cafecito to turn fresh farm foods in to delicious and ready to eat meals that can be added to the weekly distribution route.
