The farm story
Reunity Farm is located in the traditional village of Agua Fria on unceded land that archaeologists believe has supported agricultural lifestyles since at least 5000 BCE. In recent history, the farm was formerly known as the Santa Fe Community Farm (SFCF). John Stephenson, a WWII veteran who believed his life was spared in the war to be put to good purpose, founded the farm in the early 1950s with the mission to donate fresh farm food to those in need. Over the years, SFCF provided many Santa Feans opportunity to learn how to grow food and given many thousands of pounds of donations to local hunger efforts.
Reunity Resources began its composting operation on the farm in 2015, and in 2019 Reunity Farm became the most recent development of Reunity’s circular programming and most recent iteration of the farm itself. We are delighted to nurture the soil of the farm with local compost, sourced from many of the same places to which the farm’s produce is donated. This is what founder John Stephenson called The Golden Circle, and what we called Reunity Resources–reuniting our resources with value for our community.
