Through our Commercial and Doorstep Food Waste Collection services, we divert 1,404,910 pounds of food waste from the landfill annually: that’s the CO2 emissions equivalent to removing 823 vehicles from the road for a whole year. Adding in the manure, wood waste and yard waste we compost, we prevented 4,018,110 pounds of organic matter from rotting in the landfill last year where it would produce toxic methane.
What happens next is regenerative alchemy: these wastes become valuable products that further pollution reduction and sequester carbon. We create 6 types of compost, 3 mulches and 5 soil amendment blends in the soil yard. In 2023, we also collected 49,184 gallons of used cooking oil to be converted into Biodiesel, a 35% growth since 2021. We compost this food waste in Aerated Static Piles to create a premium soil amendment efficiently and effectively. Our rich, fertile soil amendments are available to hundreds of local landscapers, home gardeners, and dozens local schools and community gardens. Used Cooking Oil (BioDiesel) Collection
We collect used cooking oil from over 60 restaurants. We make collection as simple as possible for restaurant staff. Collection is FREE and participants may qualify for a tax write-off up to $5,000. This used cooking oil is processed into low-emission biodiesel and redistributed in blends at fueling stations. We are not presently selling biodiesel directly from the farm.
Used cooking oil only - please no animal fats, water or grease from flattops, hoods or grease traps into Reunity barrels.
- We provide as many 55-gallon drums as is needed for your used cooking oil only, OR, you can let the oil cool and place it back into the 5-gallon jugs for us to collect instead.
- Based on your volume, our collection driver will pickup at regular intervals (weekly, every other week, monthly).
