Coco Coir and Rice Hulls
Our Coconut Peat and Rice hull blend is a sustainable alternative to peat moss. The coconut peat is triple washed to eliminate natural salts and buffered with calcium and magnesium to maximize the growing potential. Rice hulls are included for a dual purpose: to reduce compaction and increase air flow for maximum root development, as well as a food source for beneficial microorganisms. Our coco coir and rice hulls blend can be used in germination trays, as a medium for microgreens, a soil conditioner, or potted for use in hydroponic systems.

BuildASoil Charged: BioChar

The Pre-Charged Bio Char not only enhances nutrient uptake but also optimizes the microbial life in your soil.”
BioChar is a modern revision of a centuries old agricultural technique utilized to recondition soils in the Amazon. BioChar may encourage microorganism colony development, it can also bind nutrients and minerals in loose soils that may otherwise leach from the root zone making BioChar a great addition to sandy, well draining soils. 1 Cubic Foot Bag: $48 |
Pumice
Pumice is an ideal soil amendment to increase drainage in New Mexico soils. Technically pumice is a volcanic glass formed in the rapid cooling of lava flows, leaving it full of little air pockets called vesicles. In a clay soil, pumice creates space for oxygen and water to flow through, allowing for better root development. In sandy soils, the vesicles in Pumice can store moisture making it available for plants as they need it. Pumice is often used in xeriscaping, succulent, and cactus gardens, as well as potting mixes, but it has a great value as a soil amendment for all trees in plants in the arid Southwestern United States. We source Pumice sized ⅜” and smaller.
