Mulch
Take a walk through lush, verdant valleys and forests and you’ll notice very little bare ground. Natural life cycles provide a natural mulch- be it fallen leaves, pine needles, bark from felled trees, or ground hugging plants and vines, these all work in unison to protect and build the soil biome. In New Mexico the high altitude and arid conditions make it vital to add mulch to your landscape to give your soil and the plants it supports the best conditions for success. As an added bonus, it looks good too. We recommend a 4-6 inch mulch layer for peak moisture retention and weed suppression.

Our Composted Mulch is screened from green waste and food waste compost. Free from weed seeds and pathogens. Screened to 3/4" diameter. Note: contains some bits of plastic, may contain small bones.

Premium Mulch is screened from green waste and manure compost. This mulch contains compost, making it an ideal mulch for vegetation and trees. The larger particle size combines with smaller aggregate to create a woven mat of natural, composted ground cover which protects the soil and aids in moisture retention. This fantastic mulch is free from weed seeds and pathogens. Screened to 3/4” diameter.

Non-uniform in size and shape, Arborist Mulch is made up of local tree trimmings. This value mulch is perfect for large land application, soil erosion control, Hugelkultur and lasagna gardening. It contains balanced nitrogen and carbon. This style of mulch is commonly called wood chips.

Old Wood Mulch

Old Wood Mulch is the ideal marriage of form and function! Old Wood Mulch is ground and screened to 1 inch minus, which allows it to form the perfect mat for moisture retention, weed prevention, and gives your yard or garden a professionally manicured appearance. Old Wood Mulch is made from wood reclaimed from northern New Mexico fire reclamation zones and derived predominantly from coniferous trees.
